Taylor is a seasoned storyteller who has spent her career in the crosshairs of media and tech. As a Partner at TheGP, Taylor oversees all of the firm’s brand and editorial efforts and supports portfolio companies with strategic marketing, brand, comms, and storytelling work.
Highlights
The media jumpstart
Taylor started her career covering New York City’s tech scene as a beat reporter before moving out to San Francisco as an early employee at The Information. While working in The Information's newsroom, she led audience development, launched a novel subscription program that’s still in play today and led business bootcamps for thousands of media professionals. Since then, she’s reported for publications including MIT Tech Review, The Boston Globe, and Vox, covering a mix of tech and healthcare.
ProductHunt
Taylor then joined Product Hunt (under AngelList) to lead its editorial operation, which spanned multiple newsletters, a podcast, social media, and several hit packages per year for an audience of millions. While there, she launched and grew Product Hunt’s media outlet, Maker Stories.
Editor in Residence
In 2020, Taylor joined Human Ventures as an Entrepreneur-in-Residence to incubate healthcare ideas. Through that experience, she founded a media publication that produced service journalism on health & wellness trends during the pandemic. After testing the waters as a founder, she went freelance as an editorial leader, consulting with a roster of startups (including TheGP!) on their storytelling, comms, and brand strategies.
For Taylor, the work she enjoys most is helping founders think like journalists—a universally useful skill, beyond simply getting press.
Superpowers
Digging deeper
Taylor is allergic to platitudes and marketing speak. She likes to work with founders to uncover what (actually) makes them different.
Creative at heart
Taylor has helped hone TheGP’s story since its earliest days, but she’s never done running "creative" experiments for the firm.
